Originally from Partenkirchen and now living in Canada, musician and sculptor Michael Mayr will guide you through the wonderful and rhythmically complex world of Colombia’s Vallenato music.
Along the way, you will discover the life’s work of Andrés “El Turco” Gil, known in his homeland as the “King of Dissonance” and the “King of Kings”! For many years, El Turco Gil has been teaching some of the poorest children, including orphans and children with disabilities, giving them the opportunity to escape poverty and build a better future through music.
With this benefit event, we aim to raise financial donations and, above all, collect used diatonic accordions (two-, three- or four-row instruments, such as Reisig or Hohner accordions, in any condition). Our goal is to provide instruments for the neediest students at the academy, giving them the chance to learn, make music and discover new opportunities in life.

The painter and poet Günter Nosch takes us on a humorous journey through his project “Duden Dichten.” The Munich-based artist has selected around 50 works from the museum’s permanent collection. He has given them new, playful titles and provides seemingly plausible yet witty explanations, modeled on the concise style and format of the Duden dictionary.

Claudia Schulte-Langforth, the long-standing director of the cult TV show “Kunst & Krempel” on Bavarian Television (BR), who has directed more than 180 episodes, will tell us how such a program is made: what happens behind the scenes, how and which experts, participants, and objects are selected, how the show has evolved over time, and, undoubtedly, much more of interest.
